Daniel
Newman, "Danny" to us, came to work at Olson's
Towing in January of 2011. He had previously co-owned and
operated D&D Towing & Recovery, and formerly worked at
ABC Towing. Anyone that knew Dan, knew how much he loved the
towing industry. When he wasn't on wrecker calls, he would be
researching towing and recovery equipment and was an active member on
internet towing communities. Whether it was the middle of the
day, or the middle of the night, Dan would love to go on any wrecker
calls that he could.
Danny took this self-portrait on his first
full day at Olson's Towing.

Towing
and Recovery Professionals from all over North Dakota and
Minnesota
gathered June 9, 2013 to lay to rest to one of their own. Daniel Newman
died in a
work related accident on Monday, June 3, 2013 south of Minot, ND.
Towing & Recovery professionals assembled a very fitting and
moving tribute with a procession of towing and recovery equipment.
Thank
you to the Minot Police Dept, North Dakota Highway Patrol, and Ward
County Sheriff's office for
escorting the procession. A big thank you to George Kuntz of Ace
Towing/Berg Towing with their help in organizing the procession.
Thank you to all of the towing
companies that participated in honoring Danny's memory. We
know how ecstatic Danny would have been seeing all of these trucks
lined up for him, as he truly loved every aspect of the towing industry
and it was our turn to return that love.
A special thanks to Curt Olson, Becky Medler, and Amanda Kopp for
capturing the images and video of this tribute to a fallen friend,
family member, and co-worker. We would also like to thank the
fellow towers of the surrounding areas that came to honor Danny and his
family. The support shown will help all of us in
the days
ahead.
